![]() Most plates do not have this sticker just the Ft Worth, Texas USA address. The 'Made in Japan' sticker as seen in the photo is not common. Worth Texas address stamped into it, it is NOT a USA made Charvel. Unless you can find more and solid identifying information, it's not what it's advertised as. How to tell USA made Charvels from import models Neck plate address If the neck plate has a Ft. Look at the headstock logo, samples offered here. As far as I can see, that adjuster is post 2015 at earliest, and that means the neck is too. If Fender says the serial pre-dates their 2002 takeover, I don't think that truss rod adjuster matches that period. You have to disassemble the guitar to locate any other markings that would identify it. The neck plate looks like a copy because of the serial number format and method used to apply it. It looks screened onto a blank.Īt the bottom of the page, it points out the for a time, the neck plate cushion (visible in your photo) has the Fender part number molded into it, because Charvel bought them from Fender. ![]() Specifically, on the USA neck plates, aside from the odd serial itself, the serial should be engraved or stamped, and on the images you've posted, it isn't. If you google 'Charvel USA Neck Plate', there aren't really any results that look like this. For it to be pre-Fender, it has to be before 2002. 5 digit serials were apparently time limited and not used with and letter prefixes. But, there is no indication on the USA and Custom. This one is odd because it's the 3D style with CF and 5 digits. For example, if the first two digits of the serial number are 13, then the guitar was manufactured in 2013. ![]() Looking at serial numbers and determining legitimacy is something I do in my daily work.
